Decocting the herbs together creates a complex interaction which results in a considerable enhancement of the effects of the individual ingredients.  This is the ancient, time tested method.

The herbs are first cut and ground, in order to increase the surface area, and thus maximize the extraction process.  They are then decocted twice in a specific mixture of purified water and alcohol.  The volatile oils, which come off more quickly, are captured and added back to the formula just prior to drying.  The liquid from the first decoction is strained off and the dregs undergo a second decoction before being strained off and discarded.  From start to finish, manufacturing takes place in stainless steel equipment.

During the entire process, the temperature never exceeds 100* centigrade, thus preserving the delicate chemical actives in each formula.

During manufacture the product undergoes rigorous two stage testing, both in house as well as externally (by independent third party authority), for contamination with bacterias, heavy metal pesticides and aristolochic acid.  Samples from each completed batch are retained for ongoing stability tests.  Any batch that does not meet the Australian and Chinese government standards is discarded.  The Chinese factories that manufacture ChinaMed formula are certified GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) facilities, licensed and inspected by the Australian Health Department.  They are also Chinese government GMP licensed and inspec ted to meet the standartds of the Department of Health of the People's Republic of China
